Nonprofits
Government contracting in this program is done through a for-profit business entity — you cannot run it through a nonprofit itself. However, being a board member or officer of a nonprofit does not prevent you from separately owning a for-profit company that pursues contracts.
Franchises
A franchise territory restriction is an agreement with your franchisor about private-sector service areas. The franchisor is not the government and cannot restrict you from bidding on government work, so government contracting is treated as a separate channel from the franchise arrangement.
In both cases, mention your situation during your strategy call so your mentor can confirm the right structure before you register.
